WSJ ‘Climate Change Cheat Sheet’

Background

An alternative way to understand and learn about climate finance: through exploring the connections and relationships between people. This complements existing ways of understanding a topic—via individual articles or interconnected ones (ex. story threads, reverse chronological feeds).

Process

In parallel efforts with an Information Architect, the page layout of the standalone experience needed to reflect the content structure of the Google Sheet and be easy to consume for readers.  

Topic cards vary based on where they live within the experience.

Within the standalone experience, topic cards feature a description when expanded. The user can also see previews of topic cards that are connected. 

Within the dynamic inset, topic cards feature a description and links to connections when expanded.
