Axios Live: Events page
Axios Live is one of the fastest-growing divisions at Axios, projected to generate $15M in 2024 (+25% YoY). As the events business expanded, its digital presence lagged behind: updating pages required manual design support, the event feed fell out of date, and sponsors lacked a compelling showcase of event impact and audience value.
I led the end-to-end redesign of the Axios Live ecosystem — transforming it from a static webpage into a dynamic, scalable platform with flexible templates, automated event feeds, and sponsor-ready storytelling.
This initiative elevated Axios Live’s brand presence, reduced operational overhead for events teams, and created a long-term foundation for growth across tentpole and franchise events.
The Challenge
1. Outdated, manually-maintained event pages
2. Poor event discoverability & navigation
3. Weak sponsor value and competitive gaps
CROSS TEAM OBJECTIVES
I facilitated shared goals across the Events, Product, and Brand teams to create alignment:
Events → increase attendance, streamline ops, highlight impact
Product → automate feeds, reduce reliance on design, improve CTA flows
Brand → unify visual language, scale design system, amplify Axios Live identity
PHASE ONE: Modernizing the Foundation
Key Outcomes
Migration from Webflow → axios-web
Automated event listings using a SplashThat iFrame
New marketing-forward event landing page
Early “child page” for Cannes with highlights & related coverage
Impact
✔ Reduced manual updates for events teams
✔ Established a unified visual direction
✔ Enabled faster creation of post-event storytelling (video playlists, coverage modules)
PHASE 2: Dynamic, Modular and Scalable
Automated Feed (SplashThat API)
In partnership with engineering to design a flexible feed powered by theme IDs, sorting parameters, and future filtering capabilities.
Modular Child Page Templates
